Centre for Archaeological Studies & Training Eastern (CASTE), Kolkata
An autonomous institution under the Government of West Bengal, the Centre for Archaeological Studies & Training, Eastern India (CASTEI) was set up in November, 1995.
With an objective to explore and document the rich cultural heritage of eastern India, the Centre is mandated to conduct multidisciplinary advanced archaeological research through excavations and explorations.
It also brings out important publications on archaeology, organizes national and international seminars, and initiates specialized training courses for students and researchers.
Considered as one the most resourceful repositories in eastern India, the Centre's library has a rich and varied collection of books and journals on archaeological research.
