THE QUTB ARCHAEOLOGICAL AREA: ALA'I MINAR (MEHRAULI) This unfinished minar was commenced by Alau'd-Din Khalji, but with its extant height of25 m, it had hardly reached its first storey when he died leaving it incomplete. He had conceived this minar to be twice as high as the Qutb Minar.
